Abstract |
|---|
Interstitial or cornual pregnancy is a rare form of ectopic pregnancy but a life-threatening condition if not detected early. Due to the abundant blood supply to the cornu of the uterus, a cornual ectopic pregnancy may lead to uterine rupture, hemorrhage, and maternal morbidity. The authors present a case in which a cornual ectopic pregnancy was suspected and treated with methotrexate. Sonographic findings that should arouse suspicion for a cornual ectopic pregnancy and the importance of correlating such findings with beta-human chorionic gonadotropin serum are also discussed.
